Anti-Semitism is on the rise in the United Kingdom. Figures recorded by the Community Support Trust report a 531% increase in antisemitic incidents during the period since October 7 this year when compared to the same period in 2022. While many might attribute this increase to the current war in the Middle East following the terrorist massacre committed by Hamas, the upward trend has been evident for some time. What lies behind this alarming trend?

Stephen Pollard is Editor at Large of the Jewish Chronicle. His history of Jewish migration, The Wandering Jew, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2026.

Professor Frank Furedi is Executive Director of the think tank MCC Brussels, social commentator and internationally renowned sociologist.

Khadija Khan is a journalist and commentator based in the UK. She writes for different publications, focusing on human rights, mainly women’s rights, as well as minorities and extremism.

Daniel Ben Ami is an author and journalist. Last year, he launched the Radicalism of Fools website, on rethinking anti-Semitism.

The evening will be chaired by Dr Alka Sehgal Cuthbert, Director of Don’t Divide Us.
